This time yesterday when I went to get the goats up from the field, the last angora had kidded and was stood over two tiny girls. She'd licked them clean but They weren't doing much. I thought one was dead.
Rushed them indoors and overnight managed to revive them. They had several feeds of colostrum by tube but I haven't managed to get them to suck yet.
Keep your fingers crossed for them.

They look really sweet. Hope mum still accepts them and they start feeding soon

Well done Debbie, at least you are doing better than me for girls, they will be ok tomorrow just keep them nice and warm.

Fingers crossed they continue to thrive, we have 2 kids in the house aswell, they where not sucking then in the last 4 days have gone from taking 30mls every hour up to taking 300mls every 2 hrs

Curled up on a mat in front of the rayburn. Still won't suck, just dribble it.

To cheer everyone up on a dreary afternoon after a horrid week for a lot of people.
The mini -twins are doing well, now out with their mum who loves them dearly.
The slightly bigger one sucked from mum this afternoon with help to find the teat and the little one is sucking a bottle better today.
Just need to shear her now so they can find the milkbar.

Cute little fluffkins look like they are doing well after their rough start. Well done, your nursing has paid off well
-
Oh they are so cute.....
-
They look lovely Debbie , nice and chunky little bruisers, well done.
-
They've started doing all the goat kid things like jumping on mum, sneeking out of the pen through the bars and not finding the way back and all those little twisty jumps they do. ;D
Even the littlest is starting to suck from mum.
It amazes me how well they've come on considering I thought one was dead 3 days ago.
Worth the sleepless nights.

Well done you and well done to the kiddies :excited: :excited:

They are so cute!! So pleased they are doing well. Well done you for saving the little one :)

Today they've learned to jump up on a haybale, yesterday they couldn't quite get there and kept falling backwards. I could goat watch all day if there weren't so many other things to do.
I sheared the doe yesterday so they're having one more day in for her to acclimatise and if the weathers alright tomorrow they'll be going out with the rest. That's probably jinxed it and it'll pour all day.
Waiting for one of the dairy goats to kid now. A ginger GG x angora, scanned for twins wonder what they'll turn out like.

How did you get on shearing her. Did you manage to get the right combs in the end.

Hi kaz
I got one of these

it seems to work alright.Just used the ordinary comb that came with it.My neighbour did them last September with his normal sheep shear comb.
I found it tricky holding them turned to do underneath and their legs, they flop instead of sit ::)
Most I did with them standing. Some were easier than others.
I nicked them a bit on their saggy bits unfortunately, but that's me not the shears.

Thats great. We have a pair of electric shears, but OH just cannot hold them now, when they are upside down they just flop. We shear off their rears when we need to with them in a head collar. and heads with dagging shears. Shearers do them when they shear the sheep.
Lovely kids hope they do well.
