Title: Feeding lactating ewes
Post by: Hevxxx99 on April 12, 2016, 01:34:02 pm
Can you over-do it?  Apart from economics, of course.

I have one ewe with twins who seems to be constantly hungry.  She's recently been wormed and getting plenty of good quality feed, but I'm thinking maybe I should just feed her pretty much ad lib to shut her up.  She was a bit thin at lambing, but picking up now.

Since you say she is picking up then she must be getting enough , to answer the question  no you can't overdo it  , she's just trying to go for the sympathy  bleat

:D That's what I suspect too.  She was a pet lamb so used to being demanding.
