yesterday has gone

this was one of my favourite songs back in the good ole days.... I must have wore out half a dozen 45's of it at least .... looking through the shed for something the other  day , I found a copy of it ...great stuff...
I think the lead singer went to the same school of dancing as me ....Yes, I too look like one of the Thunderbirds with the strings cut  ... ::) ;D

Another really good version can be heard on this link :

Mark Almond is good as ever ... and my all time music hero PJ Proby is great as always ( although he is not for some I know !! ::))
The original version ( cupids Inspiration ) is in my opinion far better ( sorry PJ )

cheers

Liked that, did bring back some memories and the style of singing is very typical of it's time!!!! I loved Everlasting love, one of my cousins was on the recording but gets no royalties as he was just a session artist. At that time I loved Fairport convention, Family, Jethro Tull, Mowtown, Bob Dylan, Donavon, Mungo Jerry (my cousin also recorded with him) Led Zeplin, Janis Joplin, Mamma Cass ??????????????????????now you set me off to have a look!! must get some more work done ;)

and there he is ... the man himself doing justice to the song some 42 years later....still just as good ...shame about the quality of the video though ...still , nice to know he is still going strong .

Although I liked some of Bob Dylan's songs , still do , I can't stand him , or that god awful noise he makes when he opens his mouth to sing ....he sounds like Deputy dawg slowed down ...
The only thing I can say about Jethro Tull is , he made a really good seed drill !!! ::) ;D
Janis Joplin and Led Zeplin , just were not my thing at all , but all the others I liked .... aaaaahhh the good ole days ... I remember when I were a lad ...( the sound of the Hovis music plays gently in the background ) ....that day aftat' war  ....eh what ? ... I've done it before ? ..oh OK then ... ;D ;D ;D

cheers
