Its an improving picture for many areas over the next few days after the recent rain, as high pressure builds in from the SW and centres close to the west or southwest for the rest of the week. So even those showers that have plagued the far NW should eventually fade away. On to today, the last of the overnight rain has cleared the SE of England, though still a legacy of cloud towards the south and east this morning. After a frosty and foggy start in places, it will be dry across much of England, Wales and eastern Scotland today with some sunny spells developing. Northern Ireland, western and northern Scotland will continue to see showers, heaviest towards the coasts, but also some sunny spells. Feeling chillier than recently in a mainly light west or northwest wind, maximum temperatures of 6-7 C in the north, 8 C in the south. Tonight, showers fading in the far NW, with much of the UK mainly dry and where skies clear a frost will develop. More in the way of cloud across the far east of Scotland and NE England perhaps thick enough for some drizzle.

For Wednesday, much of the UK will have a dry and bright day with sunny spells after early fog and frost clears, perhaps more in the way of cloud towards the eastern coasts thick enough for some drizzle at times. Thursday and Friday will be on the chilly side and perhaps seeing more in the way of cloud across the UK, but also some sunny spells, particularly in the west, with overnight frosts where skies clear. Cloud will be thick enough in the north and east at times for some drizzle or patchy light rain. As the high edges further west at the weekend, we may see fronts move down from the NE bringing thicker cloud with rain and sleet southwestwards on Saturday followed by colder air from the northeast on Sunday with wintry showers in the east, but some uncertainty on this. so very little snow and bright Sunny days i dont think February will be to bad eather the last 2 yeres wev had no miled days January February so for lambing goats etc the best off luck on new life.

up date   We've been talking about it over the last couple of days and now the quiet settled spell of weather that's promised is upon us as high pressure builds strongly over the country. Current indications suggest that this area of high pressure won't be going anywhere very fast for at least the next week, so we can expect a lot of quiet weather with subtle day to day changes.

Many places are starting today off on a dry and bright note with sunny spells breaking through after the early morning fog and frost clears. There is somewhat more cloud across some northern and eastern areas of Britain and this is thick enough to bring a few light showers to some eastern coasts of England and Scotland. Otherwise for most places it will be a dry day with spells of wintry sunshine. Temperatures will be a touch below normal, but it won't feel too bad outside with mainly light winds.

Not a whole lot of change is expected tonight with eastern areas again likely to be rather cloudy with the odd light shower at times, most likely over parts of East Anglia. For most of Britain and Ireland though it will be a dry night with clear spells allowing mist and fog patches to form along with a slight frost for many. Thursday will be a very similar day, perhaps with more cloud spreading west over parts of England at times along with the odd shower. Most regions will be dry with sunny spells though, the best of these towards northern and western areas, whilst temperatures will be a touch below the seasonal norm. this could last till the end off the month that means 1 more rough month and then spring will arive ..qlick on the german wether  link below
