Title: sloe runners
Post by: northfifeduckling on March 15, 2009, 04:58:06 pm
We have some sloe bushes incorporated in an over 15 year old hawthorn and beech hedge. The runners from the sloe bushes come up up to 15 feet from the original shrubs. The more I try to cut them, on the lawn I just go over them with the mower, the more new shoots seem to be coming up. No way of walking barefoot in case you tread on one of the poisonous thorns. Any suggestions welcome!!! :&>

If you want to kill the sloes completely bang in a few copper nails into the runners. shame to waste such a useful fruit tho'
