During the stage 3 debate of the Land Reform (Scotland) Bill, Scottish Minsters agreed to carry out a review of the legislation governing small landholdings, laying a report before Parliament by 31 March 2017 and consulting with small landholders and others as appropriate.  (s124 of the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2016 refers).  This review is now available here: http://www.gov.scot/Publications/2017/03/4234

Hi,
Do you think this will have any impact on smallholdings as opposed to the 74 small landholders referred to in the introduction? With the average tenancy at 111 years it would be nice to see them get a right to buy, in the light of power held by Ministers it is interesting that 2 are in possession of two Scottish Ministers and some belong to the Crown.
