Banding
« on: April 06, 2017, 07:38:25 pm »
Just banded our first male kid. Vet came last time to show us. Poor chap looks so uncomfortable
He keeps lying down then getting up again. Walking a bit better now.
Is this normal?
Vet gave them painkillers when she came but we don't have any. Anything I can give him to help?

Normal they normally lie about for a while next day usually fine. You can give aspirin dissolved in water to goats as pain killer, for kids 1-2 tablets up to 3 times a day. (Adults 6 tablets 3x a day.) Depending on when your vet gave painkillers and what, they will last eg. loxicom 2 days before further dose. So probably no need to give anymore pain relief but if you think the kid does need more consult your vet first.

Thanks. I wasn't clear. This little chap hasn't had any. It was the other two that the vet did that were given painkillers. So aspirin then. Ok thank you so much!!!
