Reprint of Poultry by Hugh Piper - Published 1877

Subtitled "A Practical Guide To The Choice, Breeding, Rearing, And Management Of All Descriptions Of Fowls, Turkeys, Guinea-Fowls, Ducks, And Geese, For Profit And Exhibition" I found this a fascinating book, originally written when many of our current breeds were becoming a fixed type and when experience and observation were about the only tools available for poultry keepers.  It also left me profoundly thankful for the introduction of chick crumbs and layers pellets!  As before, I'm clearing through my bookshelf and it's free to the first poultry keeper to PM me.

Sadly postage from England to France is rather unreliable and very expensive Marches Farmer. Like you I find early books give a lot of valuable insight, written at a time when farms were small, keepers needed to keep all their stock healthy and drugs were not available.

Sorry, Princess, but you were just pipped at the post.  I did receive the message, though.
