2 Sets of McMaster Feacal Egg Counting Slides For Sale
« on: September 27, 2016, 07:54:15 pm »
Hi folks,

I bought a set of four McMaster FEC slides from Ebay to spread the cost of shipping from Canada, and I now have two spare sets up for grabs, first come first served.

They cost me £12.50 each, so if I add a fiver for Postage and shoe leather down to the post office, that's £17.50 delivered, payment via bank transfer.

Any takers?  :thumbsup:

I will have one, however you will have to wait until I get my computer back on line. Not got a clue when that will be.

This looks like something I could get into... Are there any directions on how to prepare the samples on the slide, and what to count (if that doesn't sound daft)?

Hi [member=75709]Buttermilk[/member], a cheque is fine if that's easier for you?

[member=7747]farmershort[/member], there are some basic instructions here, and also several videos on Youtube. You'll need a microscope with 40x and 100x total magnification (usually that means a 4x and a 10x 'objective' lens on the bottom, coupled with a 10x lens on the eyepiece), and a mechanical 'stage' for moving the slide around accurately (suitable microscopes are about £150 new, or less than £100 on fleabay). The other kit required is described in the instructions above.

If you still have a spare I'd like one but looks like I've missed out.

Maybe..... depends if Farmershort wants one. If not, you can have second dibs Dogwalker.

{Of course if four more people are interested, there's nothing to stop somebody from ordering another pack from the same link and doing the same thing!}

It'll take me a while to get all the other kit together, so feel free to count me out this time.

Perhaps I can do the next order...
