Do you live near reading?
« on: September 17, 2016, 03:12:37 pm »
Doing a little research on reading and would like first hand advice from anyone in this area

How far is reading from heathrow?

Is reading on the flight path?

Is there any noise level from planes?

Cheers people!

I lived just south of Reading (Riseley) until 3 years ago.

It is on the Heathrow flight path, but we didn't notice that much noise - it's far enough away to be background noise.

The time taken to get to Heathrow is really dependent on time of day, one accident on the M4 and you're there for hours!

We are about 8 miles north of Reading and don't get any noise from Heathrow bound aircraft but we do have the joys of Benson Air base and their helicopters at night.  There used to be a direct bus from Reading to Heathrow - not sure if it still runs.
