sheep shearing equipment
« on: July 28, 2016, 05:29:07 pm »
Being newbie, having just obtain my first small flock of 6 sheep (already been sheared), for next year what are the best buys in shearing equipment (for a small flock)..........I would rather buy good used equipment than new that would only last a short while.

Your thoughts would be welcome.

I should ask a local shearer to give you a few lessons first, it's not as easy as it looks!!

My first choice would be to find out who shears your neighbour's sheep and ask for yours to be done at the same time.  Second choice would be to attend a BWMB shearing course or one of the privately run ones.  If you still want to get your own equipment George Mudge supply secondhand reconditioned shearing kit.
