Sitting down duck
« on: February 06, 2016, 06:01:30 pm »
We have six Cayugas, hatched from two sets of bought in eggs last Spring.  There are two drakes and four ducks and they give us a lot of pleasure with their non stop activity round the house - plus we had our first egg today.

Recently one of the ducks seems to have spent more time sitting down on the ground near the others when they are foraging or preening.  She seems to walk fine.  They all had a course of worming pellets a week or so ago.

Might this duck have a problem?

Thanks for any thoughts.

s long as she is on her legs and eating and drinking I wouldn't worry, just keep an eye. When water birds are thinking about laying they will sometimes be a bit "dreamy"
