Bye bye my avatar
« on: December 01, 2015, 12:01:12 am »

A few days ago Gladstone Laughing Boy, my Avatar, finally popped his dainty clogs.  He was ten years old, has sired many successful breeders, and even met the Queen once at The Royal Highland Show.

LB was such a gentle chap, a wonderful example of how Hebrideans are as easy as pie to manage. He didn't have an aggressive bone in his body, and kept control of the other males by standing between them to stop them fighting.  He was king of the tups for nearly his whole life.     His dam is Osgoodby Jezebel who is still on the go at nearly 20, so a long lived and prolific line.

I won't be changing my Avatar  :sheep:

RIP Laughing Boy.  :bouquet:
What a great name with a matching character - he had a good life it seems, and that's more important than anything else.

Bless him.   :bouquet:  RIP Laughing Boy.  And no, don't ever change your avatar - he's magnificent :)

Please may we use his picture on our data sheet about Hebrideans for our Tour of British Fleece displays?  I know you'll say yes, we already used him on the info sheet for our Deb Robson workshops last year (with your kind permission.  :-*)

Of course you can Sally

We have kept one of LB's sons, Gladstone Cadfael, who looks as if he has inherited his sire's lovely nature.  He has broken off a side horn though so he won't find himself on show ever.
