One of my Shetland girls has been laying for a week but today there were four eggs so they are all laying now. Not babies any more!  :(

Problem is there are rats in the garage so eggs are going missing.  Saw ratty this morning.

Poison the bu##er . A length of drainpipe about three foot long put against the wall and put the bait right in the middle so nothing else can get at it.

No poison here - I have a cat and dogs.  I live next to a burn so impossible to control anyway

Shetland sheep, Castlemilk Moorits sheep, Hebridean sheep, Scots Grey Bantams, Scots Dumpy Bantams. Shetland Ducks.

I'm regularly getting four a day now.  Whether Jack is doing his work or not I have no idea as I don't have time to watch them.  Is there any way of telling if they are fertile without incubating them?

Yes if you crack one open you will see a small different colour spot on the yoke.

No, gave then to a friend who has a huge netted field as they had become very wild - wouldn't come near me, and had learned to fly - they disappeared up river every now and then and gave them to Ian to saved their lives really.  Got some Shetlands from Moira, much easier to talk to although still a bit flighty - but at least one can't fly away - Angel has angel wings
