Turkey feed

Hi all....

I'm rearing turkeys for the table and all is well, a friend has decided she wants to save a couple of these birds from slaughter and is going to take two on as pets. Does anyone know what feed they should be fed as no one seems to have a regular turkey feed ??

Thx

I assume she will be taking females (males will not make good pets) so I would feed them as chickens, free- range -whatever-they-can-find plus layers pellets and a bit of whole wheat?

I feed my mature turkeys only layers pellets.  They can get through a lot of grit and also tend to drink far more than chickens.  I always take feeders away at night, to keep them in good but not fat condition.
