A Big Hello from hopefully Suffolk

Hi All
We are in the process of buying in Suffolk from an amazing couple who have had the place for 35 years. If all goes well we will have just over 10 acres. My dad is coming with us and he is a beekeeper, but we are hoping to get some pigs and cows. We already have a few chickens but hope to expand on these but I would also like to try turkeys. Just cannot wait it is a huge dream that is coming true. Any tips, experiences etc all gratefully received.

Hi, from Ely. Start rain water harvesting, its really dry. Local Facebook pages are great for buying stuff, and I have not really found a really good local smallholders page but this I think is the best, https://www.facebook.com/groups/12034536733/?fref=ts

Are there many people on here from Suffolk as we will be totally new to the county as we are moving from Kent?  I know it will be a huge learning curve but just want to be there now, unfortunately we have just lost our buyer but we luckily have a new one with in a week, so now it is all systems go.

Moving is so stressful as I am sure you know. Sounds like a great adventure you are about to go on, good luck with everything.

Hello from Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk. Would love to offer help and advice but we are just in the process of moving to Cumbria so we will be in exactly the same boat as you just somewhere else !!  :fc:

So many ideas, not enough hours
