Hi All,

Just a quick hello from North Wales (or soon to be!)

Been a reader of the site for about a year now, but thought it was time I actually joined as I'm soon going to be a smallholder, moving to North Wales on the fringes of Snowdonia to set up a small holiday accommodation business with the bonus of having about 4-5 acres to sow/grow/raise some food for the table.

Exciting times ahead and no doubt I will be asking many questions once I'm settled in and got used to having more than a dog an 20ftx30ft garden!

Let the fun times begin  :excited:

Welcome to TAS. If you need any advice then please ask nd we will try to help you. What breeds are you going to be keeping? if you don't mind me asking :)

Thanks, planning Chickens for eggs and table and maybe a couple of turkeys (maybe for eggs as never tried them..), and hopefully a 3 or 4 sheep or pigs, still not decided on that one, prefer lamb over pork, but can't say no to sausages and bacon to go with the free range eggs  :yum:

But really all still in the planning stages, as more research needed on the animals before committing, hard enough deciding on a polytunnel and veg, let alone a breeds of chicken/sheep/pigs etc!

Congratulations and welcome.  Deciding what to keep and what to grow is a lot of fun!

Live in a cohousing community with small farm for our own use.  Dairy cows (rearing their own calves for beef), pigs, sheep for meat and fleece, ducks and hens for eggs, veg and fruit growing

You sound excited! That's so nice. I felt just like that in September 2014 just before we came here. I hope it all works out well for you and ask away, on any topic. There is every level of experience here.
