Hello All,

This may only be applicable to a few local people but I have just found out that ADM (Charing) have gone into administration  :o

I am gutted as its literally meters down the road from us and I have always been very grateful to have no food miles and such a wonderful, helpful, friendly abattoir!

I am planning, on the recommendation of my butcher, to move over to J R Farm Meats nr Canterbury. Anyone got any experience with them?

In the meantime I'll be in the corner weeping over my added travel costs  :'(

Hi All,

Will do Oaklands!

Adorm, it was a really good place. Hopefully it will be bought by someone and maybe keep some staff. Fingers crossed! Local to you and me we have J R Farm meats Canterbury, Ballard's Marden or Forge Farms who I think are either Tonbridge or Tonbridge Wells.

I actually had two booked i for monday, luckily i heard about this on the local grape vine a week or so ago.

Gave me a chance to book in at Tottingworth Farm, in Heathfield, instead

No good for you Kent lot but anyone in E Sussex might find them useful.
Was my first time at the abbatoir and seemed fine.

They don't do cutting but use a butcher down near Horam who seems really good (Smithers), they're a private cutting butcher with a great online cutting list system.
I will report back on saturday when i've collected our butchered pig and hog roast pig
