I found a small pile of normal droppings (no scour) with fresh blood in the goat shed this morning. All the girls look healthy and are out browsing, I've not seen any of them scouring. Two of the girls are new and their droppings were rather clumpy when they arrived, could it be the strain of passing such a lump? As I don't know which one it is, I'm not sure what to tell the vet! Any advice? One had kids a week ago.

Seems like no-one has any answers for you.
Could it be discharge from the recently kidded goat rather than rectal blood.

I have seen this in my goats droppings before, may mean a worm problem, have you had a FEC recently ?? Especially your newcomers ?? May be worm doing, goats don't always scour, in my experience.

Thanks dog walker, I asked on another forum and it seems likely to be discharge from the kidding. Phew. I haven't had a kidder yet so this is a all new to me. Thanks for your replies both of you.

Just advance warning if you don't know - your kidded girl is likely to look really messy under her tail about 1-2 weeks after kidding, I worried myself silly over this the first couple of times, quite normal.
