Hello from NY
« on: April 28, 2015, 01:59:00 am »
Hello!

My name is Jas and Im in upstate NY in the middle of dairy country (quite far from any city. I mention this because everyone seems to think NY is all city. But the majority of it is wilderness and farmland. I live in the farming part hehe). My 7 year old daughter, Mad, and I share a big house and two acres with elderly family. I keep 4 sheep (two Icelandics, a Jacob and one Jacob/Southdown cross), chickens, cats, turtles, and a dog. I dream about having more land and a dairy cow or two, but, for now we are planning to get either a lady sheep or goat to milk next year. We also have begun gardening again and I hope to do lots of canning this summer and fall!

Ive been stalking this forum for a while now and thought it was time I join and say hello!

Jas n Mad
Mum to 3 wethers and 1 accidental ram (Jacob, Jacob/Southdown cross, 2 Icelandics), chickens, cats, turtles, a super awesome American Bulldog mix (Tokki) and the best little girl ever (Mad). :}

Hello from Devon :wave: My sister and brother in law lived in New York (city) for a time. BIL's brother owned the restaurant  at the top of the twin towers.
What is the climate and land like there. I know my sister suffered in the summer with the heat and humidity, but maybe that was just in the city?

Hi Jas :wave:

I was born in downstate NY.  Hope you didn't have too rough a time with all the snow these past months?

Hi there. I love New York. Such a beautiful state. My step son lives in Boston and he and his girlfriend do a lot of hiking in New York.
I also love NYC too tho! My paternal grandmother was a New Yorker. It makes London look like a dump imho
Is it time to retire yet?
