What a nuisance they are - Good luck with the rehoming.
This must be catching because we have had something similar - no cockerels, all hens must be vaccinated - only one turkey?
They dont understand the chances of keeping one turkey till its needed are VERY remote.  There have been chickens stolen by our 2 legged predators over here.
If you cant beat 'em then at least bugger 'em about a bit.

Thats pretty rotten of them vfr, sorry to hear it.

I'd be tempted to call their bluff and say its cruel to keep one turkey on its own but they'd probably just respond by saying no turkeys at all!  :-\

That's a shame  :( I can kind of understand the cockerel thing though. The allotments in Carnoustie are right in the middle of a residential area.

Yes I understand the cockerel thing because people abuse it & leave the locals to suffer the noise while they disappear to their quiet houses.  But there should be a fair period of time warning to implement the changes.

we have a recent addition of a size restriction for new polytunnels of 10' x 8' - not even worth erecting!
Jealous now of the existing monsters that wont be required to be removed.
If you cant beat 'em then at least bugger 'em about a bit.

What about asking a local farmer if he has a bit of rough land you can set up on?  Might need a proper contract but that's not much cash and you might be able to bribe them with fresh eggs?

Not entirely sure its useful though.  There is supposed to be a requirement on the council to provide allotment space if a certain amount of people request it.  The true principal is that the council have to 'consider it' not actually do anything.

Suggest you alert your local newspapers - kind of story they love.  Make posters to alert locals.  Have a protest meeting.  Embarass the Council - kind of thing they hate.
