Signs of pregnancy ?
« on: February 26, 2015, 08:24:39 pm »
I have 3 OSB gilts which I AI'd in December at 11 months. I think we got the cycling right as we had watched and noted cycle dates for 2 months beforehand.
I have not noticed them cycling since, so am hoping at least one is expecting. With a month or so to go I can't see any real signs of pregnancy- is there anything that might give me some clues, or do I just have to be patient for another month?

If they haven't come back in season there's a good chance they're in pig. Some of our sows don't show much until a few days before farrowing while others are huge from about half way.

I only have limited experience, but my gilt didn't show any real signs until just under three weeks to go when her udder 'bottom' line began to lower steadily.

That's good to hear, fingers crossed then. I'm driving myself a bit bonkers looking every day, but not sure exactly what I'm looking for!
