We have a herd of angoras - we bought Horner ones as they were the ones that were recommended to us
This is an excert from the email
"Thank you for your email. We would recommend the Heiniger Xtra for Angora
goats (please see here for more information:
http://www.hornershearing.com/acatalog/_heiniger-xtra.html) as long as you
have mains electricity where you would be clipping them?
If you don't have mains electricity, the next best option would be the
Heiniger 12V (
http://www.hornershearing.com/acatalog/heingier-12v.html)
which runs from a vehicle battery"
"The Heiniger 12V is £275, the Beiyuan Mohair combs are £14 each and the cutters are £2.90 each (for quantities under 10) plus VAT. We would advise using two cutters to one comb. At a rough estimate, you will be able to clip around 2-3 animals before they will need sharpening so the cost will vary according to how many combs/cutter you'll need. For the 12V, one combs and two cutters, including the VAT, the total would be £353.76. We do free shipping which is two to three working days or guaranteed next working day at £5.95."

The BAGS webite has a useful handout on shearing. Watch clips on utube too. Have blue antibiotic spray ready if you cut them - keep the skin tight and go across belly and neck is my advice. Doing them standing up not turned like a sheep is easiest - can turn for last bits around belly. watch out for teats etc etc
They do reconditioned ones but depends if they have them in stock
