Hi,

Does anyone know were I can get a sharps bin from as i have 14 sheep and need a place to put needles and medical containers. I an near Berkshire and only need it to be collected one a year but may depend on size. Any advice and prices would be great.

Thank you,
Hugo

As I understand it you need to keep discarded sharps safe - there's not obligation to dispose of them at regular intervals.  Ours go into a pot in a vetmed cabinet - haven't run out of room yet.

Your vet should be able to get you one and take it from you when full :)

I bought a wee sharps bin from Ebay very cheaply, but I'll be honest, I hadn't thought through how to get rid of it when full!

If the vet won't take it, do you know any diabetics?  :innocent:

When I was on wafarin and heparin injections I managed to fill up a small sharps bin myself, I took both it and my full livestock one to the clinic to hand them in  :innocent:

They were so not impressed that they wouldnt take either   :roflanim:

I still have them both sat in the cupboard!

Good idea, not many diabetics using 2" 16 g needles though!

I got mine from the vet too. It cost about £12 because that includes disposal when its full but it will be years before I fill it up.

And not many medical receptionists who'll open up a sealed sharps bin to measure them either!  ;)
