My first and probably only thread in the Crafts section!  ;D

After a few months of running around with my sheep stuff in an old licky bucket, I figured a proper box was in order. However, I really didn't fancy a plastic B&Q affair as I wanted something sturdy to sit on whilst waiting for lambs to appear, etc etc.

Luckily a few hours and a surplus floorboard produced this!:



OK, it's hardly the work of a master cabinet maker, but it's functional enough. The lid flips down to reveal my sheepy toolkit, and doubles as a handy shelf to rest things on and keep them clean between sheep.



I'm sure the contents will develop over time, but at the moment I've got a variety of lotions and potions,  foot clippers, hoof brush, dagging shears, disposable gloves, syringes and a wee sharps bin for safe disposal of used needles. (I make no apology for the paddington notebook - I've had it since I was five, but could never find an important enough use for it during childhood, so....)



There is one concession to adulthood built in too  ;) , along with some hooks for hanging it...



.... from the nearest gate, sheep hurdle or radiator to keep everything out of the mud while I work.



So my question now is apart from a cold beer or two, what else have I forgotten to put in there?  ;D

That IS exquisite! Not an essential medicinally, but I would not be without my 'blowfly repel'..... It does seem to work and smells fab.   We had a few strikes this year when I had only just got it... Used it whilst I was doing the horrible bit and it really did drive the flies away.

AntiB and Calciject?  We always have Huggies baby bum wipes - great for lambs' bums too, and for cleaning hands after horrid stuff.  Maybe kitchen roll, and a small bag for rubbish.

That's a wonderful box.  You could go into production on those!

Live in a cohousing community with small farm for our own use.  Dairy cows (rearing their own calves for beef), pigs, sheep for meat and fleece, ducks and hens for eggs, veg and fruit growing

That is terrific :thumbsup: :trophy: , well done.  I wouldn't be able to carry it though :thinking: but it would be a great lambing box to stay in the barn.  Put me on your list please when you go into business making them ;) ;D
