It's been on the Shetland group facebook page recently, the island is very close to the main (is)land, and there are no houses on it yet (there are plans for them....), so you would need a cool million or two...

Well, I can dream even if I am not fit enough to get into the boat to get over there in the first place and it doesn't look like my scooter would travel over the terrain.  :(


Oh and not to mention the fact that my OH wouldn't come with me. My goats would love it though.


It must be more than thirty years ago that I read a newspaper article about a couple from London who bought an island in the Outer Skerries. It had one scarcely inhabitable house on it, which they planned on doing up. The wife went there to live while the husband continued to work for a while. They had a rowing boat to get across to the main island for shopping. I've never forgotten that article and I wonder what happened to them.
