Laverstoke Park abattoir new scheme

Hi all, its been a while....


Just tried to book a single pig into Laverstoke park abattoir, sorry, new scheme now, spreadsheet and minimum quantity of 4 pigs !!!!!! this is devastating news to me, I only ever take one at a time, its all I can handle.... I does anyone know of another abattoir or registered slaughterman near to Eastleigh....?

I'm sorry to hear that. I had no idea they slaughtered other peoples stock!  ??? The abbatoir local to me slaughters 1 pig at a time if you want, they're quite small, but very efficient.

Hi Terry,

I had the same problem I was trying to take one lamb there last week and i was told about the new policy. I have spoken to some friends who tell me that there is an abattoir in Farnham called Turner's but I have not spoken to them about if they will slaughter one lamb.

If you did ring them it would be great to know.

Hi, thanks, I looked them up and saw someone's account of Turners v Laverstoke,  Mmmm if this is a good account, I won't be taking anything of mine there....  and the fact its twice as far away as Laverstoke makes it just impractical for one pig.   Looks like I'll be giving up pig keeping.....

I reckon the next nearest place to you that does pigs is either Sherbourne or Devizes.

We take ours to Southern Traditional Meats at Henfield, Sussex.  Its probably quite a drive for you, but they're pretty good - and take single animals.
