I use Raid insecticide and/or creosote.  Don't think Jeyes would be toxic or penetrating enough to do the deed.

Hi. I used Jeyes in solution on the inside of my bantam house this September and hubby sprayed it on the outside with a pressure washer. It was left to dry then I rinsed the inside with water through said pressure washer as I was afraid of the fumes harming the birds. I haven't seen evidence of any red mite since, and this house had somewhat of a chronic problem with lots of nooks and crannies. I'm using diatomaceous earth now. Next year I intend to do the same again. It seems to have been effective for me

I was advised not to use Jeyes anywhere near chickens because of the residual toxicity.
