Scaly skin

Cloud has developed dry scaly skin on her teat. I was going to get some Udder Mint for her but she is still suckling the kids. Is is safe to use for her at the moment or should I use something else? I don't want to poison the babies.

we use Battles udder cream after milking every day, kids don't have a problems with it and I think where we use udder wipes before and after milking it must be drying their skin out on the teats

Does that help? I thought the trouble might have been caused by the kids leaving milk residue on the teat.

milk is moisturising so try leaving them with a good layer of milk on to air dry.

(recommended by midwifes for humans who are breast feeding too.  :roflanim:)
