That was close .....

Blooming donkeys undid the latch on the field shelter gate, and let the goats out overnight, so that they (donkeys) could tuck into the hay and bedding.  Not too bad, except for the fact that one of the goats was in season, and had taken herself off at great speed across the field and through the fence to tease Darren.

When I got there she was reversed up to Darrens door, and he was hanging over the half door with his tongue out.  No harm done, and back where she should be, with a secure fastening round the gate as a precaution against the donkeys repeating their actions |(which they are likely to do)

Every goatkeeper got his/her own story on that topic.... I should have filmed my big BT type lady (6 years old and 90kgs) trying to get into the billy shed through the window last week. She got stuck once her front legs were and head were in.... v funny! She was marched back into her pen pdq... " One was not amused" and billy was annoyed too!

I know someone suddenly realised her year old BA was developing an udder. She knew her billy had been no where near the young goats so thought something was wrong. She separated her from the rest for the night, planning on calling the vet the next morning. Except, the next morning Dilly wasn't alone. She had a lovely female kid with her. The only thing the owner could think of was that Dilly had got through a hole about 15 inches by 18 inches between the main shed and the billy's shed to join her father and then returned to her own shed.
