Caterpillars in tomatoes
« on: September 12, 2014, 10:15:06 pm »
I have never had problems with caterpillars in tomatoes until yesterday when I found two when I took the tomato off the plant. One was grey with a dark stripe and one was light green with a dark stripe. Has anyone else come across these?

Never had caterpillars in tomatoes so cannot help with identity.
However, I have a little lad who is obsessed with collecting them from my veg to keep as 'pets' in a mini enclosure if you want to borrow him for collecting the crawlies  ;D
I do insist they are collected and kept in an enclosure on the property associated with collection so no unlawful taking of property items can be ensued  ;)  ( and the fact he has brought too many other species onto our property from subsequent huntings  )
He is taking some of his collection to school on Monday for educational research so I've advised they can keep the critters for deeper educational observation  :innocent:

He will work free of charge. Just a drink of juice and slice of cake  ;D
