Hi everyone!

Hi everyone, my name is lucy!

I'm 21 years old, and looking to have my own small holding very soon after I've completed my degree. I love rare breeds and would love my own small holing/farm

My family own a small woodland and was wondering whether there was anything that I could start keeping up there whilst I save for my own land ?

If there's anyone local to me who would like to let me come and help out at their small holing I'd love that to, it'll also be good for my college work experience too! Please let me know

Don't wrestle with pigs, they will love it and you will just get all muddy.

Let go of who you are and become who you are meant to be.

Hi Lucy and welcome. Got family nearish to you in yattenden so know the area well. Woodland ? Pigs possibly though you'd need a good water supply and housing.

Hello from Devon. I, too would go for pigs, they're a woodland animal but you will need really good fencing.

Yes I was definately thinking pigs :) but was wondering if there was anything else I could start off with ?

My degree is in animal management and conservation! My aim is to save as much as I can so I can buy some land/small holding and have rare breeds if I can.

I went to the Henley show yesterday and will be going to the berkshire show next Sunday and got talking to the people showing there and would love to get into showing too

Hello and welcome from Carnoustie  We breed Shetland cattle (rare) and Coloured Ryeland sheep (not rare any more  ) as well as about 80 laying hens and fattening two weaners and 20 meat birds for the freezer.

Oh wow! I'd love rye land or Southdown sheep to breed I just adore them.

I'd like to focus on rare breeds aswell
