I am back-- does anyone remember me?
« on: August 25, 2014, 07:44:44 am »
hello old friends, it's Sylvia here, back in civilisation after two years in my hobbit hole on Dartmoor. Going through the posts was like going to a party and seeing folk I haven't seen for years. It's lovely to see all the old names and a lot of new ones too. Missed Deep in the Woods and Colliewoman though. I still have my land with a handful of Jacob sheep, my dear old Kune sows a gaggle of geese and a flock of bantams also a lovely new neighbour who keeps pigs, sheep and bullocks and we sort of share grazing. His Large Whites and Landraces are turning over a quarter acre for me for veggies.
Well, a bit of a life change for us. Poor old Jim has had two heart attacks which is why I am back in the land of the living. We have a "dear little bungalow" not too far from the land so I can still escape!!
Good to be back!

Very sorry to hear about Jim's problems
Don't listen to the money men - they know the price of everything and the value of nothing

Hello!

I'm probably one of the new ones that you don't recognise. But I really value the experience and advice of smallholders who have been doing it for a while.

Welcome back!
