We have just paid £3.50 small bale. Baled to order and delivered to us and unloaded.

It was £3.25 if collected from the field.

Powys ..... between Welshpool and Newtown.

Does anybody know how many I should buy to see half a dozen sheep safely through until the Spring?

anyone asking for £6 a small bale for hay this year is having a laugh. just been offered some at £2 a bale which seems about right for the best grass growing year most farmers can remember.

£2.50 off the field here, plenty about but if it stays (desert like!) dry much longer here in south west Wales dairy farmers will soon be feeding fodder and prices could go up.

We just sold our hay -small bale - for £2.50 off the field. Well theoretically off the field but we do seem to have ended up stacking, loading, delivering and unloading hay for that...!
