The woman who started our spinning, weaving and dyeing group stepped down from any organisation of the club recently due to her age and ill health.
As a group we want to give her something as a thankyou and as it more or less coincides with her diamond wedding anniversary we have decided to give a silver basket with things we have made in it on a diamond/silver theme.
Ideas gratefully received as I haven't got a clue what to make.

Now that is something you really would need to knit with the very softest wool, or you'd be sawn in half

Definitely not for Herdwick yarn

She isn't a golfer and as she is in her 80's I think she is past the thong stage. I do like the diamond book mark though.
I am going to download it later and see how difficult it is.

Somehow the thought of wearing a knitted thong doesn't appeal to me. Actually, the thought of wearing any sort of thong doesn't appeal to me. I might never find it again under my big tummy.

I have made the lace diamond bookmark which was one of the suggestions from SITN.
The thread I used is a silver grey colour with a silver lurex thread running through it. It is a bit thicker than I would have liked but cjoice was limited. Having said that I think it looks nicer than any of those in the pictures, even though I do say it myself.
I should have let you be the judges but I forgot to take a picture and now it is all wrapped up.
Anyway, thankyou for your suggestions and especially Sally.
