hiya, dont know of any calf rearing courses or where abouts you are in the country.  However, before i bought my first 2 calves i spent loads of time visiting friends with Dairys who calf rear and asked hundreds of questions.  Spoke to all the local cattle farmers and gleaned as much information as possible.  Also most importantly, found a few local farms where i could buy calves from which came from a closed herd and were BVD free etc etc.  Good luck!!  :)

If there's a dairy farm near you they may be happy to have you volunteer for a week or so, or longer if you like - you'll learn loads ;)

Don't listen to the money men - they know the price of everything and the value of nothing

Live in a cohousing community with small farm for our own use.  Dairy cows (rearing their own calves for beef), pigs, sheep for meat and fleece, ducks and hens for eggs, veg and fruit growing
