We never add anything to water Pierre as it discourages them from drinking. All our chicks at day two get a small spot of probiotic natural yoghurt in their beaks. That is enough to activate their system I think and they grow well with it. I make sure the yoghurt is multi-culture, not just one, but four or so. Some people don't bother of course.

Chris, how do you know which or how many probiotics are in a given yoghurt? I just always grab the green Yeovalley Organic With Probiotics pots in the shops, I thought these things were all pretty much the same  ???

Is it a case of asking the manufacturer?  :)

Why do you feel the need to add stuff to chicks water?
