Goslings (or hatching goose eggs) wanted - Scottish Borders
« on: April 15, 2014, 04:06:12 pm »
I am looking for a small number of either day-old goslings or failing that for about 8 fertile goose eggs to incubate myself.

I am not fussed about breed at all, cross-breds would be great as these are for the table for next Xmas/winter.

I would rather not have eggs posted, but can collect as far as Northumberland/Cumbria and Fife.

How small a number Anke?  I'm about to start an incubator-full of commercial Embden types in a couple of days time. If the hatch rate is good, I'll certainly have a few spare.

Alternatively, once the incubator is full, I can start collecting eggs for you to incubate yourself? Might take me a wee while to get eight though, since our girls are keener on sitting than laying at the moment!!

Don't let it stop you from sourcing any from elsewhere, but I'll keep you posted with how we're getting on  :fc: .

Anke I have  10 Embden eggs if you want them, judging by the state of the girls necks Gonzo is doing his job
You can certainly have these and if they don't work there is still time to source day olds

No worries Anke - I'll be putting a full batch in the incubator whatever, but if I can help you out, I will.
