Powerline adaptors anyone got one?
« on: April 09, 2014, 02:46:31 pm »
I'm trying to get a wifi signal in the barns approx 50m from the house. There is mains power but it runs from the house via another building.
I understand these adaptors run wifi thro your mains electricity to a socket somewhere else on the property.
My question is do they work that far off. I can't see any quoted ranges on the web??
 ??? thanks

I use them in the house - but sometimes, when I am sitting in the barn for a long time (waiting on a kidding or whatever) I take the Powerline and plug it in, in the barn so I've got a wifi signal out there and can internet surf while I wait :D

My barn will be at least 50m from where the signal comes into the house, and the plug that 'puts the signal into the mains' but I don't think there's that much attenuation as the signal travels through the mains.
