hi everyone my name is elle and me and my partner ollie have been offered 3 acres of land we are hoping to keep my eriskay yearling (pony) and a few sheep on the grazing the pony would only be out for 12 hrs a day and would be stabled at night time, the breed we were looking at is oxford downs as our family have vast experience with this breed however being new to small holding looking for a quieter life does anyone have any suggestions or helpful hints and tips regarding sheep many thanks

One thing is make sure the pony is used to sheep and happy with them in the same field, some horses are and some aren't. If not rotate them and split the paddock with electric. Also beware of the sheep chewing the horses tail! But they will be good for each other in terms of worms (again best of all if rotated rather than co grazed but either is good)

Ye he's a bit of a loner and enjoys jumping the fence to graze with the cows however will not stay in the field with other horses I think it is a case of mistaken identity lol
