Creaky Knees

I'm at a loss to understand why by turns and on different legs my goats are holding a leg up or appear lame. I thought the common denominator was a new horned nervous bully who i guessed was probably hooking one or other of the goats and giving it a bruising but she's settled down quite a lot and yesterday it was her turn to be holding a leg up. I've noticed their knees seem very creaky and wonder if they're missing something in their diet - they can't all have arthritis as they are of varying ages and have all developed the problem in the last few months. Any ideas anyone?
