TB rule changes for east sussex cattle producers
« on: December 04, 2012, 06:40:40 pm »
As from 1st January 2013 a new TB testing regime will be introduced for all cattle herds in east sussex. Other than herds under specific TB restrictions. all herds in east sussex will be tested on the annual (12 monthly) basis.
As a consequence of this change all cattle, except calves under 42 days, will be require to be pre-movement tested before moving off the holding.  Exemptions only exist for finished cattle, overage cattle and barren cows which can be sent to an exempt market, more info will be publish in the coming weeks.
Holdings in east sussex planning to market store cattle in the early part of the new year should liaise with their vets over an annual or a pre-movement test or consider marketing before the year end 2012.
