So, you can do pics in the post now  :thumbsup:

As for avatars - I can only do that via Photobucket.
So, you go to your profile, then modify profile. The top bits then are about your avatar. Use the bit that says 'specify an picture by URL' or something similar, this time instead of copying the IMG code from Photobucket, you copy the 'direct link' code into that box, and hey presto, an avatar  :-*

I'm new, so this is very late, but I had to laugh, as I just had almost exactly the same conversation as you when trying to post pics of our pet rats to the Scottish Rat Club forum!!  P.S. Where do I find the smilies?!

If so they should showing above the box that you respond in. You then just click on the ones that you want to use and they get inerted into your response where your cursor is.

Took some working out how to copy and paste  ::) but success today.
