what is it?  seems odd that people give pigs away. I was looking for a kune kune but on reflection would be concerned about the temperament of something I'd not raised

I'm only 12 miles from Exeter, I will go and have a look. Do you think it looks a bit Iron-Ageish?

That may be a bit harsh TBH. The seller's other advert for horses says 'can't keep them any more due to change of use for the land', so it's quite possible the pigs are just in a similar predicament.

I do wonder if 'free to a good home' includes keeping him as sausages though?  :innocent:

at least with pigs you have the option to eat them        dogs and horses just don't have them option unless you you are a German with an Asian restaurant    some people would not contemplate eating anything they have raised    they are maybe unaware that cheale exists and there pig is worth something :farmer:

It is a bush pig..... many crossing have cause the hair to change from white to black..... but it is certainly   not a Large Black.l

Well, she is three and a half and has never been bred from. Her owner was most surprised when I suggested she was a bit too old to start now. He had bought a Kune boar in the hopes of a litter and supposed he was too small to do the job. (where there's a will(y) there's a way ;) )
He was given her as a small piglet on the understanding that he wouldn't send her for slaughter and wouldn't even consider letting me have her to do just that, though he did agree that pigs make very expensive pets so, I wished him luck and left him to it!
