Hello from Retford, Notts.

Hi my name is Dave and me and my friend Gemma have just got 6 8wk old saddle back sows for meat and bacon. first time venturing into pig keeping so please bear with me if i ask silly questions.
I also have an allotment so they will be well fed with fresh fruit and veg.

We're in windy Carnoustie and have three Hampshire gilts booked in for slaughter on 21st August. Also Coloured Ryeland sheep, Shetland cattle and a variety of hens.

Me & Hubby have also just started with pigs - With us it's large blacks (A few minor hiccups, as explained on my intro...) We're in Norfolk, It's nice to know we're not the only people new to keeping pigs & asking silly questions!
Sheep: North Ronaldsay & 4 Horned Hebridean - We also breed & exhibit 3 breeds of rabbit - Chinchilla, Deilenaar (rare breed) & Colour Pointed English Angora.

we have turkeys chickens and after having weaners for a few years are now embarking on breeding

Good luck with the pigs! Keep sheep and dexter cattle but have to look after old spot x tam worths when a neighbours away and they are great on the plate!
