somewhere to keep chickens
« on: April 13, 2012, 11:53:12 pm »
I have this posted on other forums   I live in the Bicester area of oOfordshire and are looking for a small plot of land and a building to keep and breed a few chickens.i cant afford much rent but i would be willing to offer my skills as a carpenter and general builder in lieu of payment.
I would if nothing is available be  willing to help out on a small holding offering the same deal as now retired i have time on my hands if i could keep some of my own poultry,i have tried several forums but no luck as of yet although i have somme very good responses and encouragement.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Steve
Thanks for looking any offers will be looked at heres hoping

Pity you don't live in Devon :( I would love someone to share my few acres with me.

wales01man,
Sorry nothing to offer you in Oxfordshire but if you decide to come to Wales (sounds like it might be your roots) then I wuld be only too happy for you to use some land.

I'm amazed Wales01man. Thought you would be innundated with offers. Trade skills don't come cheap and you are offering them free simply to offset rent. Could do with you living nearby when we move to France!

I'm in France too and could really do with some help - I have loads of timber to replace a floor in the barn and want to put some ship-lap kind of thing on the wall above a utility room. I could offer free accommodation, wine and beer for a week plus all the eggs you can eat and probably a few duck meals!! near Limoge so cheap flights.

hope you find somewhere in your area for the chickens.

yes - why - fancy a trip?
I thought of doing that WOOFE thing when people come and help on smallholdings or farms.

WWOOFers are great. Last year we had a French girl and a German couple. They worked really hard.

At the end of it DH was absolutely exhausted as he had to go out and work with them  ;D ;D
