it is to strong for the lady that is looking after it        and cant take it walks  and they do not have a garden to let it run about in
from what we have been told it is a brilliant dog travels well socialises with people it is just unfortunate that the owner works and her mother is not as fit to look after a young dog :farmer:

So things must changed completely since the owner got it 4 months ago?

If there's a contact mobile or email it can be put on Facebook locally.

i think it is one of those situations      it was a good idea at the time   but in reality not such a good idea
a friend of ours and a relation of the dogs owner would have had it but she has more than four already
they are wanting a genuine owner    not some Ned that is wanting take over what he sees as his patch :innocent: :farmer:

Hope things work out for the best for your friends and this dog Robert.

Maybe you could help them train it to walk nicer on a lead??  Not easy I know with a strong dog.

I read this post with interest as one of my cross bred male dogs is great on and off the lead untill I meet another dog, then he is too strong to hold, my other 2 are similar weght etc, and one a male but I have full control so do not worry...I keep thinking about re homeing him but to be judged is silly and unfair, some dogs take more handling and can be difficult, better to find a responsible home for the dog rather give the dog to some one unsuitable, with a big dog like that, I would be concerned too, obviously some people, including me, make mistakes and others pretend the don't :innocent:

My doberman (rescue) was also very strong when meeting other dogs. 3 weeks residential training didnt cure it. What has helped a lot is this (cheapish too). You can keep control as you are able to hold the dog from above and not be pulled along.

NB if it rubs too much (under armpits), this one may also be an option tho I havent tried this one

Thanks, I have one of those, our male is a rescue, well sort of, it was a relative who passed away and the dog was 9 mths but he had already been going to dog training classes and been castrated, like I said, he is fine but I never feel totaly in controle like with the other 2, those I had since pups and they are litter mates, they are at my side on walks and thier recall is great, I also worry that the other male will lead the other 2 astray ( I posted about electric fence) as the house backs onto open fields and I can see him eyeing up an escape route but I am at home most of the time so keep an eye.  I often think of getting him re homes as he is now 4, but then I love him but one day he may just need to go if he gets me into trouble!!
