Mad goat
« on: April 06, 2012, 12:48:22 am »
I so wish I'd had my camera handy this morning to video what happened when I was giving Cloud her bottle.  Curry, now aged almost ten months, who usually hangs round hoping that Cloud will have gone off milk and I'll give it to him, really surprised me.  He has been known to give Cloud a butt up the butt when she's feeding so I watched as he approached but he just put his face near her wagging tail and let her smack him round the face with it.  Once one side was well slapped he moved so another bit could be whacked.

Has he gone completely round the bend or have other goats been known to do this?

They say goats take after their owner ;D ;D ;D Is she coming into season? Even if castrated they can be interested as in "Hmmm, I think there;s something I should be doing here, can't quite think what?"

I hope she's abit young for seasons?!
But they do get hormonal "changes" as they grow, so maybe he's just checking!

  I too blame the owners ;)   :D  :D

I think he's totally normal - my wethers spend a lot of time with their noses around the girls buts, and try in on sometimes obviously to no avail but they do try  :) :)

He's not actually sniffing at her rear, just standing close enough to get his face smacked.  He was doing it again today.

The amount of food she puts away, she's getting to be a big slapper.
