Poldenvale turnover crates; there are a few crates of this design on ebay at the moment

I can't see from the images how they work? Anybody care to describe?

I saw the video for the Kwik Sheep turnover crate, which looks very smooth but it looks like it is only suitable for feet. Or is there access to the rear?

The sheep enters the crate via a race through a gate on the end of the crate, large metal fingers are pushed down to grip the sheep. The centre section holding the sheep is turned over and out so it is on its back/side with its feet at your chest level. After finishing treatment reverse the procedure and open the gate in front of the sheep she walks out. When i used a crate i did everything dosing/injecting/dagging while turned over.

The crate seems to have fixed sides which cannot move.

Does the sheep rotate like a pig on a spit somehow, or head over heels?

I bought a Poldenvale crate off eBay but it works in the way Shep53 says - I think I know the one you mean as I saw one on eBay and couldn't work out how it operated either! It has two sheet metal sides? Does Poldenvale still operate as a company - if not perhaps try and contact someone who currently makes them, like Ironworks or Ritchie - someone there should know

Poldenvale crates tip the sheep backwards, rollover crates tip sideways. Rollover crates fit any size of sheep with no adjustment. the poldenvale needs adjustment for small or big sheep .
