I was going to write about an imminent arrival, but.....
« on: November 19, 2011, 09:26:51 pm »
.. didn't quite get time  ;)

Have had a very 'ansty' Kune Kune all day - started off with her breaking out the pen (the pen which successfully contained full grown Tamworths and Large Blacks  ::)) to meet us as we opened the front door when doing the morning feed rounds  :o

After managing to attract my attention to her plight, I followed her back up to the shed where she proceeded to rearrange her nest and gaze up at me with those little piggy eyes for more straw - gave her more straw and some wood shavings too, but that wasn't enough for Adelaide  :-\ She decided to remove the creep rail  :o and help herself to the bedding intended for the piglets  ::) :-\

Anyway, suffice to say - we now have piglets  ;D 7 so far, some really tiny and some monster ones (a really big brown gilt) but she looks a fair bit from finished yet  ;)
Bruce has taken over to let me get a quick cuppa and loo break, so I'm heading back out and will post with an update (and photo's) soon

Thanks  :-*
We're up to 10, and she still doesn't look finished  ;) and to my horror I've discovered my camera is playing silly beggers  >:( Open it up, out comes the lens, then it shuts itself back in and goes off  :-\ I'll try charging it overnight and if that doesn't work I'll borrow one tomorrow
Back soon

Yup Annie  ;D It's a fantastic feeling

We've got 12 little Kune Kunes  :pig:  :pig: It looks like she's all done now (thank goodness lol!) they've all had a feed and are settling down for the night. Only really concerned about one of them, a wee squeeler who's kinda wandering a bit and upsetting mum with her noise  ::). We'll see how it goes through the night  :-\

Phew, the adrenaline is wearing off and I'm starting to get tired - looks like the sausage making will have to wait til tomorrow (and I'll just do piglet watch via CCTV  ;))

Goodnight folks

Well done Adelaide, Karen & Bruce.  That's put a smile on my face before bed.  :D  Hope the little squealer is quieted down by sun-up - and that your camera works tomorrow !   ;D

All 12 seem to be doing fine
Two of the big ones were lying sleeping (with full bellies) while the other 10 were feeding - she only has 10 teats, thankfully all working  ;)

Here's some photo's - once they start to spread out a bit I'll take more  ::)
